NCAA Football: Hoosier-ball

The Hoosiers went on the road to take the fight to Iowa in a sound one-score victory. The contest showed that they have the tools to grind out a win against a solid conference foe. Fernando Mendoza didn’t blow anyone away, but he found Elijah Sarratt time after time. He totaled 132 yards receiving with a score. The defense held the Hawkeyes under 300 total offensive yards with two takeaways. The tests are coming in the form of Oregon and Penn State. They have plenty of opportunities to prove if they are real enough to challenge for a title.

The offesive production made the cross-country trip with a 424 – 276 performance. The defense recorded six sacks and two interceptions to hold off the Horned Frogs’ threat. The win gives ASU a share of the top spot in the Big XII for the moment while overcoming the early loss to Mississippi State, however everything is still wide open. Some smoke will clear while they’re on bye this week before they return with a road trip to Utah.
